Benefits for the farmers
It has proven to be a beneficial scheme for farmers for the last few years after its launch on 19 February 2015 by the government. In the form of a soil card which is issued to farmers at an interval of every 2 years, the farmers will get a report which will contain his report will contain all the details about the soil of their farm like the type of soil and its limitations. It also contains the status of his soil with respect to 12 parameters, namely N, P, K (Macro-nutrients); S (Secondary- nutrient); Zn, Fe, Cu, Mn, Bo (Micro – nutrients); and pH, EC, OC (Physical parameters) and indicates fertilizer recommendations and soil amendment required for the farm.
HOW CAN A FARMER USE SOIL HEALTH CARD?
Soil Health Card is a user-friendly, do-it-yourself tool to assess soil health as well as functions as a mutually beneficial among farmers and technical specialists and this card will help farmers in deciding the crops, that best fit for their land and accordingly can plan for the future of their crops and land. It also contain an advisory based on the soil nutrient status of a farmer’s holding. It will show recommendations on dosage of different nutrients needed. Further, it will advise the farmer on the fertilizers and their quantities he should apply, and the soil amendments that he should undertake, to realize optimal yields and to get the maximum benefit with appropriate corrective measures. Once in every 2-3 years, they will provide a report to farmers. So, farmers need not worry if the nature of the soil changes due to certain factors, they will always have updated data about their soil along with the details of how well the soil can be managed.

Registered Soil Samples could be tracked by clicking on Sample Tracking Icon and entering a part of Sample ID.
