Let me tell you that Uttar Pradesh is the largest sugarcane producing state of the country. The state annually produces about 179 million tonnes i.e. 44.75 percent of the country’s sugarcane. About 48 lakh farmers are associated with sugarcane cultivation. Uttar Pradesh has the highest contribution in the total sugar produced in the country. According to the state government, the average production of sugarcane in the state has reached 815 quintals per hectare in 2020-21. The average production of sugarcane in the last financial year was 811 quintals per hectare.
THE INITIATIVE
To help the sugarcane farmers, the Uttar Pradesh government has given the facility to fill the declaration form online on the ERP website. Supervisors have also been appointed by the Sugarcane Development Department so that farmers do not face any problem in this. The supervisors will meet the farmers in their circle and help them in filling the declaration form online. Apart from this, farmers can now modify any mistake made in the declaration form, this facility has also been added to the website. The department says that people were facing problems in filling the online declaration form and complaints were being received continuously. Keeping in view that the farmers should not face any problem in future, observers have been appointed who will go to the farmers and help them.
The Sugarcane Development Department has also added the facility to amend the manifesto in the crushing session 2021-21 on the portal. Now farmers can rectify their mistakes by visiting the ERP website http://enquiry.caneup.in/.
CAMP TO BE HELD AT COMMITTEE LEVEL
Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Sugarcane and Sugar Sanjay R Bhusreddy said that after uploading the documents, farmers can also amend them, if they understand some mistake. Even after this, options to submit have been given. He further states that the sugarcane supervisors will help the sugarcane farmers in their circles in some way to fill the declaration forms. Farmers will get this facility during the speculative performance of the village level survey. Even after this, if a farmer is left out, his manifesto will be filled by organizing camps at the committee level, this work will also be done by the supervisor.
SETTING UP OF IT CENTRE INITIATED
IT center will also be established in the committees so that farmers do not face any problem. According to the department, the internet and electricity system at these centers has been improved so that the farmers do not face any problem for the slip. According to the government, IT centers will be established in all 45 sugarcane cooperative societies of the state. This will give a big relief to 4.5 Crore farmers selling sugarcane to sugar mills.
